lyrics

I was born in a paper town, on the right of page 63.
Better living in two dimensions, better living through harmony.
The black stripe of the latitude line stretched as far as the eye could see.
It takes a village to raise a body, my village raised only me.

Ventured north past the scale diagram, but there wasn’t much to see.
Walked east to the tear in my universe, and it felt empty.
Now I knew everyone around, I was born in a paper town.

Grab your coat, and get your hat.
Leave your worries at the doorstep.
Life can be so sweet,
on the sunny side of the street.

I was born in a paper town, on my back and facing the sky
The monochromatic forests of grey still bring a tear into my single eye, yes
I was born but I wasn’t found, ‘till a traveler gave a care.
Came armed with a map that had my name, but I saw I wasn’t there.

He took a look towards the scale diagram, but there wasn’t much to see.
Spread the ground past the tear in the universe, and it felt empty.
He stuck his sign post in the ground, I was born as a paper town.

Grab your coat, and get your hat.
Leave your worries at the doorstep.
Life can be so sweet,
on the sunny side of the street.
