lyrics

Well it started when the monoscope made the troops turn black and the mushroom clouds glow white.
Through the monoscope, the flags seemed black but the ashes shone in bright.
Mr. Sarnoff was a good man, and as good men go he sought to show his might.
Mr. Sarnoff had a big plan--took those fine tuned hands to calibrate the light.

In that day I was only a zygote, I still remember it dawn.
I'd watch the pale blue colors on the side of the womb with the closed caption on.
With my whole world projected, I became disconnected and fell right on out of the screen.
And in a world filled with danger, the TV was stranger as it calmly put itself in between myself and everyone.

My TV's got an indian head, never seen a picture clearer so I look at the screen instead.
My TV's got an indian head, got the circle in the middle and I'll see it until I'm dead.

Mr. Sarnoff is a good man, he keeps us safe from the horrors in the east.
Mr. Sarnoff has a big plan, to shrink the world and save us all the least.
He's got a cathode and he can't and he won't 'cause it's highly up to code and the picture will blow your mind.
Mr. Sarnoff is a good man, that's what the television said.
