about

"These are the days of lasers in the jungle, lasers in the jungle somewhere. Staccato signals of constant information; a lose affiliation of millionaires and billionaires."- Paul Simon, 'The Boy in the Bubble'

Julia and I met over a composition seminar at LaGuardia, known as the New Music Ensemble. Over our stay, we worked with fifty performers, composers and engineers (several featured on this album) on some truly wonderful material. Our last goodbye to the school was a two hour concert, in which we parted ways to explore classical guitar and electronic performance for one last time. 'Travel On' was written as a bittersweet last salute to our New Music Ensemble and a welcoming statement to the underclassmen joining. With any hope, I'll get to work with such friendly, creative people as I travel on.

We'll miss you.

-Kirk Pearson

lyrics

These are the days of war in the jungle,
staccato signals on the front lines.
A reason to wander past the material,
a reason we'll all leave the old place behind.

We'll fix it together. When we travel… on.

These are the days of misplaced emotions.
Staccato knockings on the front door.

We'll bind over altruism,
breathe down beneath the schism,
admonish the cynicism,
stand out anachronism,
as we travel on.
